Due to the extreme cold termperatures, the January Scramble has been re-scheduled for Jan 17, 2009 from 8am to 4pm.  Please make sure you get in touch with Jerry Pagen if you can not fish or have not been paired with another club member.

New Club Officers Elected at the October Meeting

Every October, the club members nominate and vote for a new panel of officers.  This year Gary Hazell was elected to the position of President, Mike Baade the new Vice President, Bill Van Kirk as the new Secretary/Treasurer.  I will post the rest of the election results as soon as I receive them.

Get your www.forsythbassclub stickers!

Gary Hazell suggested that I get some www.forsythbassclub stickers made for those members that would like to put them on their trucks and/or boats; so I did.  They are simple white vinyl lettering 1-1/2" tall x 16" long.  They cost me $1.25ea so thats what I need back for them.  If you would like to get one or more, let me know via email or I will have them at the next club meeting.

Autumn bass fishing, season by season

By Will Brantley - 29.Aug.2007

Anglers are masters of adding “subseasons” to each new season of the calendar. Bass fishermen, particularly in the South, don’t usually measure spring from its official beginning around the 20th of March through its end in the middle of June. Instead, spring is measured in stages: the jerkbait-on-points, prespawn stage; the flipping and Senko stage; the sight- and bed-fishing stage; the mouth-of-the-bay, postspawn stage; the moving-offshore stage and cranking-deep-cover stage, etc. You get the idea. Spring is the season most revered by bass fishermen, and it is picked apart, almost week by week.
